5Tough Helicopter that's tons of fun
By Mango
I've been wanting to purchase a remote control helicopter for a while now but was afraid to because they seem to break easily. One day I spotted the Tigerjet helicopter at Best Buy and figured I'd buy it and hope for the best.

Be sure to have some batteries available. The Tigerjet takes a lot of batteries (six AA) and they are not included. Once the batteries are installed you hook the 'copter to the remote control with a little wire that is hidden in a slot. It charges for about an hour. The charging light starts out red, and as the helicopter becomes fully charged the light will gradually turn yellow and finally green. Once it is green you are ready to fly!

My first time flying was a disaster. I can't say how many times I crashed the helicopter. I'd recommend practicing in an area that doesn't have a lot of hard surfaces until you get the hang of the controls. Despite the many crashes, this helicopter is still going with all pieces intact! The downside is it only flies for about eight minutes (I haven't timed it yet but will do so soon). You'll know when it needs charging again when the helicopter stops going up and slowly begins to descend down.

Great helicopter that's a lot of fun to play with and it's very durable. Just watch your fingers!

5Most fun you'll have at this price
By Chris
First I'll address the price, I didn't pay full retail probably a little more then half, if I had paid full price I's say it still be worth it....

With that out of the way....

I think the first thing that should be addressed is, does it fly?

The answer is a resounding yes. It fly's like you'd expect a helicopter would with one exception, it does not "slide" side-to-side. Having said that it does exactly what I expected and gives excellent precise control.

Second, How hard is it to fly?

Once you read that this thing fly's, the question is how hard is it? For some it's easy for others it's near impossible. The best objective test I could suggest is to ask the following questions. Can you play a racing game on Playstation/ X-Box/ PC and be in reasonable control of the brake and throttle and finish toward the top on reasonable difficulty?

Can you play without using the walls to help you steer?

Can you do the above without getting frustrated, quitting or throwing your controller a lot?

If you answered yes to all three questions, there is not doubt in my mind you you could fly this copter within 30min of flight time.

The more of those questions you answered no to, the more difficult the copter will be for you. Pay special attention to the last question. If your easily frustrated it's going to be hard to learn.

Otherwise I'll reiterate the other reviews. So far the copter has taken a pretty good beating, but in all honesty I've only used it 4-5 charge cycles(about an hour of flight time), but in that time it's taken a few hard hits.

I've noticed my battery performance is great with a strong 7-8 min of flight time. I recommend charging with the included USB cable (if possible) and saving the batteries in the remote (6 "AA").

I felt a little silly asking my wife to get this for me at 41 so she had the kids get it for me and give it to me for Christmas. They are thrilled their dad is having so much fun with the toy they got for him. As I said before, if you have young kids, use the "racing game questions" as a test of a child's ability to fly.

The challenge of flight, taking off on the floor and landing on a table is hard but a ton of fun!

5FUN FOR ANY AGE
By Barbara McNamara
I purchased this for my grandson who has many similiar "toys" he uses outdoors. Once he opened his gift inserted the batteries the entire family was amazed at how easily the controls were to use. My grandson by the way is an adult so the big guys or girls will have fun with this. For the price this product is well worth it; it looks as if it cost a lot more. Quiet, great lights easy controls and just being fun makes a perfect gift. ESPECIALLY for indoors.
